Currently the configurator does not support custom macro's and a few other things that I would like to try. Is it possible to compile KLL on my own? What do I need to do to make it work?

Yes KLL can be compiled yourself. You can find instructions on our GitHub page and instructions in the wiki associated with it.

Besides the instructions, it can be helpful to look at examples of KLL files that other users have created. You will especially find examples if you do a web search for KLL examples for the Infinity Ergodox, because the unusual layout of that keyboard really encourages customization.

Not that I'm endorsing this one, but here is one repo with some examples of KLL: https://github.com/mcmillion/kiibohd-...
